Latest WISTA UAE Event : ADPC and Khalifa Port Tour

On Thursday May 17, 2012 WISTA UAE (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association) members had an interesting and well-attended tour to the ADPC site office and Khalifa ports in Abu Dhabi.
The event started at 9 am with the arrival of delegates and a presentation at the visitor center and ended at 12 pm with their return from site tour of Khalifa port.
The focus of the event was on networking, education and mentoring as well as promotion of leadership and sharing of valuable experience among international female delegates.
WISTA UAE’s great event was organized by Mrs. Jasamin Fichte, presiding President of WISTA UAE to enable delegates establish contact and share knowledge and success.
WISTA UAE regularly organizes motivating yet unique events for its members at interesting venues; on a vessel, in a port or even a dry dock!
This time the meeting was as interesting as all the previous ones combining a media table tour in ADPC site office in Taweela and a site tour to Khalifa ports.
“ADPC is becoming one of the huge players on an International level. Today not only committed to increasing awareness of females in this business, but is also keen to learn from them and exchange views in various discussions”, said Jameela Al Junaibi, Marketing Manager at ADPC.
WISTA (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association) is a networking organization linking women in management positions within the shipping, maritime and trading industry. The organization has more than 1500 members from 34 different countries world-wide.
The first WISTA organization in the Middle East was founded by Jasamin Fichte in 2010 in UAE. The main goal of WISTA UAE is to raise awareness of the Middle East shipping industry amongst professional women inside the country and abroad, to encourage more to join the maritime & trading sector and to build a network platform for women within mainly male dominated industries.
