In view of the friendly relations existing between Malta and The Islamic Republic of Iran and desiring to develop further the commercial and other relations between the two countries, the Malta government has appointed the Managing Partner of our Tehran office, Mrs Faezeh Tabatabaei, as the Honorary Consul with jurisdiction over the territory of Iran. Such appointment has also been accepted by the host country, i.e. the foreign ministry of the Islamic republic of Iran.
As Honorary Consul  Mrs Tabatabaei will have all rights and duties of a consul, with limitations only relating to issuance of visa, passports and birth/death certificates.

As always her main concern remains shipping and she will accordingly focus on promoting the trade between the two countries through the respective chambers of commerce, and she will of course be the authorized person to attest all documents which are issued or executed in Iran for use in Malta.

As an honorary member of the Iranian Shipowners Association and a maritime lawyer, Mrs Tabatabaei feels that with such appointment she can now help the Iranian shipping industry even more than before.
