Abu Dhabi will host the First Session of the General Assembly of International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) on 4 and 5 April, 2011 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The Assembly Session will be an important meeting which will mark the announcement of the official and legal launch of the Agency and the election of Abu Dhabi as its permanent seat

The 65 countries which have submitted the instrument of ratification of IRENA’s treaty can participate as active members in the First Session of the General Assembly, while the remaining 78 members can attend the meeting and its proceedings and make their observations on various decisions and documents contemplated in the Assembly Session.
