Jasamin founded Fichte & Co in 2005 in Dubai. She studied law in Hamburg and maritime law in Southampton and started her career as a maritime lawyer by gaining valuable experience in international law firms in Hamburg and London being a dual qualified German lawyer and English Solicitor.

Prior to founding Fichte & Co, she worked at the leading Lloyd's of London insurance brokerage firm as legal counsel for Middle East. Establishing an excellent network within the maritime and trading community and developing her legal skills further by handling huge amounts of marine insurance claims, from salvage, collisions, wreck removal to cargo claims and personal injury. This gained her the reputation as one of the most experienced marine experts in the region. She is a regular speaker at conferences and contributes regularly to legal magazines.

By opening Fichte & Co, Jasamin had the opportunity to look outside the legal box and added management and business skills to her portfolio. If a lawyer understands the business side of a transaction it is her and it is for a reason that she has been counted amongst the 20 top lawyers in the Gulf. She continuously strives for excellence and this is reflected in the repeated success of being voted “Best Maritime Law Firm" in 2007, 2010 and 2011.

Besides top class legal work, Jasamin is very active in business networking and one of the founders and organizers of the UAE Ship Industry Round Table, a remarkable network event for top management and key persons within the UAE Shipping Industry.

Furthermore Jasamin established the UAE Branch of WISTA (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association) in 2010 and chairs the same as its first president.

She is a member of the DIFC Courts Rules Sub Committee, The International Bar Association, German Maritime Arbitration Association, Women in Shipping and Trade and Chairman of the Legal Council of the German Emirates Club.

Jasamin is fluent in German and English.
